Donabe Clay Pot

We love the beautiful shape and white glaze of our gorgeous donabe clay pot. Handmade in the Iga region of Japan, which is known for its special clay that is highly heat-resistant, the donabe gradually builds heat on the stove then slowly cools down after the heat is turned off. The glaze helps promote far infrared rays when heated, allowing the donabe to produce a gentle, steady heat that evenly cooks food. The clay consists of a high level of pre-historic fossilized microorganisms that leaves the clay porous when fired. The porous body gives the donabe remarkable heat-retention ability. Perfect for making soups, stews, noodles, and rice.

Measurement: 14"W (with handles) x 7.5"H (with lid)
